Frozen Strawberry Margaritas

I watched someone else have a bad experience with tequila when I was at university and that traumatized me enough that I avoided it for years. Even now, I can't look at a tequila shot without feeling a little ill. However, I can't say no to a delicious margarita, especially when it's accompanying a Mexican meal.
Ingredients [serves 2]:
½ pint strawberries, hulled
juice of 1 orange
juice of 1½ limes
6 oz. tequila
6 oz. lime simple syrup
½ lime, cut into wedges
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
½ teaspoon lime zest

To make the syrup, combine sugar, lime zest, lime juice, and water in a saucepan and heat over medium until it comes to a boil and the sugar completely dissolves. Let the syrup cool and then chill in the fridge.
The margaritas are really easy; all it takes is a blender.
Make some lime "salgar" (that's a Parks & Recreation reference). Combine sugar, salt, and lime zest. Rub the lime zest into the sugar to release the essential oils.
Hull some strawberries and cut them into smaller pieces. Juice the lime and orange juice.
Add the strawberries, lime juice, orange juice, tequila, lime syrup, and ice to the blender.
Pulse until the ice is finely blended.
Rub a lime wedge around the edge of the margarita glasses and then press into the lime sugar. Pour in the margaritas and then cheers to a job well done!
If you want to make the margaritas a little prettier, garnish the glasses with a berry and a lime wedge.
These margaritas are super fresh and fruity and tangy and frankly kind of dangerous because they're so delicious and go down so easily. The lime salgar is a nice complement to the cocktail. By the way, the tequila I used, Suerte, is one I picked up out of convenience and because the bottle was attractive but it was really good and I highly recommend it. It's smooth and delicious and perfect for margarita making.
